New DATEV Executive Board Member Prof. Dr. Christian Bär

New management board team takes future in hands.

Eckhard Schwarzer, former chief markets officer (CMO) and DATEV’s deputy CEO left the company on 30 June 2021 due to his age. Dr. Peter Krug succeeds on 1 July 2021. New member of the board and chief technology officer (CTO) will be Prof. Dr. Christian Bär.

“I wish to thank Eckhard Schwarzer for his decade-long and tireless dedication for DATEV. He had a decisive influence on our success as a cooperative. I am also giving a warm welcome to Christian Bär as latest member to the newly formed executive team. I am looking forward to a good and constructive collaboration”, states Dr. Robert Mayr, CEO of DATEV.

Prof. Dr. Christian Bär, in his role as CTO, is responsible for the technical development within the company. He especially wants to further support DATEV’s digital transformation, that he already promoted in his position as chief digital officer and product owner of tax consulting products.

Bär replaces Prof. Dr. Peter Krug. He takes over the position as CMO and with it overall responsibility for operations considering service, distribution, marketing, and international business. Krug will also be the new deputy CEO.
